UPCOMING INTERSTATE CLOSURES!!
To set the bridge girders for the new two-lane flyovers at I-435 and I-35, the roads must be closed for a period of time. The first two weekend closures are complete. OVERNIGHT CLOSURES July 22-25 and July 27 & 28 on Eastbound I-435. The next full weekend closure date will be posted as soon as the schedule is confirmed. EB K-10 to NB I-435 new flyover ramp The girders for the new two lane flyover ramp bridge have been placed during overnight road closures to reduce the impacts to traffic in the area. The bridge decks are nearly complete. The new two-lane flyover bridge ramp are anticipated to be open in August 2015.
New bridge girders are being placed at I-435 and I-35 for the new two lane flyover bridge ramps for westbound I-435 to southbound I-35. The weekend highway closure June 26-29 allowed the bridge girders to be placed over I-435. In July, the girders over I-35 will be placed.
I-435 at I-35: The piers for the new two-lane flyover ramp bridges are constructed. Girders are being placed for the westbound I-435 to southbound I-35 and eastbound I-435 to northbound I-35 bridge two-lane flyover ramps.
K-10 and Ridgeview Road: Construction has moved into the final phase in advance of the completion of the new diverging diamond interchange in July 2015.
Preparation for an upcoming 10-day traffic shift to reduce EB K-10 to one lane takes planning. Crews cover signs, while paving continues for the new eastbound collector-distributor road in the distance.
Westbound I-435 is being widened to four lanes plus auxiliary lanes and the pavement is being replaced from U.S. 69 to K-10. New bridges over local roads, like Pflumm Road, also must be widened to accommodate the additional lanes.
